CSP Roofing designed and installed the roof of St Helens’ new £20m Langtree Park ground. The 18,000-seat stadium is due to open in time for the new Super League season which kicks off next January.

CSP landed the contract after being employed to install the roof of a Tesco superstore next to the ground......

Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776.

Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.

Many people display the American flag on their homes with the celebrations having deep roots in the American tradition of political freedom.

In 1775, people in New England began fighting the British for their independence. On July 2, 1776, the Congress secretly voted for independence from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence was first published two days later on July 4, 1776.

The first public reading of the Declaration of Independence was on July 8, 1776. Delegates began to sign the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776. In 1870, Independence Day was made an unpaid holiday for federal employees. In 1941, it became a paid holiday for them.

The first description of how Independence Day would be celebrated was in a letter from John Adams to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776. He described "pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations" throughout the United States. However, the term "Independence Day" was not used until 1791.

Interestingly, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, both signers of the Declaration of Independence and presidents of the United States, died on July 4, 1826 - exactly 50 years after the adoption of the declaration. It is also important to note that Native Americans lived in the country and each tribe had its own nation and government prior to the European settlers.

Set a credit limit with customers.
You can use a credit reference agency for an overall report on your customer’s credit, but be aware that your customers’ ability to pay bills can change from one week to the next.

At the time of Julius Caesar's first small invasion of the south coast of Britain in 55 BC, the British Isles, like much of mainland Europe was inhabited by many Celtic tribes loosely united by a similar language and culture but nevertheless each distinct. He returned the next year and encountered the 4000 war chariots of the Catevellauni in a land "protected by forests and marshes, and filled with a great number of men and cattle." He defeated the Catevellauni and then withdrew, though not before establishing treaties and alliances. Thus began the Roman occupation of Britain.

Nearly 100 years later, in 43 AD, the Emperor Claudius sent Aulus Plautius and about 24,000 soldiers to Britain, this time to establish control under a military presence. Although subjugation of southern Britain proceeded fairly smoothly by a combination of military might and clever diplomacy, and by 79 AD what is now England and Wales were firmly under control, the far North remained a problem.

However, the Emperor Vespasian decided that what is now Scotland should also be incorporated into the Roman Empire.

Under his instructions the governor of Britian, Julius Agricola, subdued the Southern Scottish tribal clans, the Selgovae, Novantae and Votadini by 81 AD. Further to the North lived loose associations of clans known collectively as the Caledonians.

Agricola tried to provoke them into battle by marching an army into the Highlands eventually forcing a battle with the Caledonian leader Calgacus in present day Aberdeenshire at a place called Mons Graupius. 30,000 Caledonians were killed, but the Roman victory was a hollow one, for the next day the surviving clansmen melted away into the hills, and were to remain fiercely resistant and independent

By the time Hadrian became Emperor in 117 AD the Roman Empire had ceased to expand.

Hadrian was concerned to consolidate his boundaries. He visited Britain in 122 AD, and ordered a wall to be built between the Solway Firth in the West and the River Tyne in the east "to separate Romans from Barbarians".

Recently Warwick Mill was asked to attend a meeting of Brampton Economic Partnership, along with a number of other leading businesses in the Brampton area, who were seeking to increase their engagement with businesses in the Brampton Area.

The Brampton Economic Partnership is made up of representatives from Brampton Business Association, Brampton Community Association , Brampton Parish Council, Carlisle City Council, Carlisle Tourism Partnership, Cumbria County Council, Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd, National Farmers Union, Parish Councils Representative (for Parishes surrounding Brampton), Private Sector – Tourism Representative, Sustainable Brampton.

The Brampton Economic Partnership meets monthly at Brampton Community Centre and the chair is Hazel Broach.

It was an illuminating meeting, firstly we discovered just how big an area the Partnership covers - from Bewcastle in the North to Wetheral in the south, Stanwix in West to Kingwater in the West – a huge area. We learnt about the ‘Radio 1 Big weekend ‘ from the Director of Carlisle Airport, Andy Judge and about Hadrian’s Wall Country and the massive tourist opportunities offered by the proximity to this world heritage site.

Brampton Business Association, represents businesses in Brampton, and is looking to recruit members from the areas surrounding Brampton. Warwick Mill will join and encourage other businesses from Warwick Mill who might benefit to do likewise.

As the Royal Wedding of the decade approaches more and more details about the nuptials are being leaked. From the gilded and stamped burnished gold invitations to some very famous snubs- Sarah Ferguson.

But in case your like me, where my invite was obviously lost in the mail (calling senior official of the royal household, Lord Peel right now). Here are ten interesting but true Official Royal Wedding Facts that will fill you in on all the madness, glamor, star power you and I will both be missing. I wonder if Kanye still needs a date...

1. Some 40 foreign royals have been invited, including the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the sultan of Brunei, the emperor of Japan, and kings of Malaysia, Tonga, and Thailand.

2. President Obama was snubbed from the guest list due to the expensive costs associated with added security to protect him at the wedding. But don't worry. Obama will return in May for an official UK state visit with a royal dinner, ball and all the other bells/whistles. French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni were also not invited due to security costs.

3. Kanye West got an invite. I can only pray he does not bring an open bottle of Hennessy or should he?

4. Male guests with a military record have been asked to don their armed-forces dress uniform, while women are expected to wear elegant afternoon dresses with or without a coat, or an elegant matching ensemble with a hat.

5. After the formal ceremony, 600 chosen guests will attend a lunchtime buffet--an extravaganza to dwarf the sit-down breakfast for 120 hosted by the queen for Charles and Diana in 1981. Buckingham Palace chef Darren McGrady told People magazine, "Guests will be invited back to Buckingham Palace for a wedding breakfast of Champagne, canapés, and heavy hors d'oeuvres, such as smoked salmon, paté, and mini sausage rolls." This list will also likely include petit fours, mini éclairs, trifle, and chocolate and lemon mousse. A multitiered centerpiece wedding cake will be beautifully decorated, perhaps with William's coat of arms, the top adorned with flowers.

6. When Prince William and Kate finally walk down the aisle on April 29th. Kate will be 29, making her the oldest royal bride EVER. (Most royal brides in history have typically been teenagers. Even William's mother, Princess Di, was barely 20 years old when she married his father, Prince Charles.) Although, according to statistics, this actually gives her a better chance at a longer future with William. Studies have shown that couple who marry closer to age 30 tend to divorce less than their younger counterparts.

7. Some homeless people got an invite as well. Prince William invited some guests who personally affected him in one way or another, including members of the homeless community and soldiers injured in Afghanistan and Iraq.

8. The future Princess Catherine (Kate wants to be called by her given name, Catherine, and not by her nickname, Kate) may have scored her late mother-in-law's 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring, but that doesn't mean that her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, will have to go to Zales to pick something out for his future wife. He reportedly inherited Princess Diana's Cartier watch, reports Celebitchy.com. Funny enough, although the sapphire ring is "very special" to Prince William, neither Princess Diana nor Prince Charles picked it out! The Queen did.

9. When asked what they love about each other, William mentioned that (I still call her by her nickname) Kate had "plenty of habits" that he loved to tease her about. I think most people are happy to know that the soon-to-be British princess has just a touch of neurotic tendencies. She also reportedly can drink William under the table, which makes her a girl after my own heart.

10. After the messy divorces of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and Prince Andrew and Fergie, it's being speculated that Prince William and Kate will be the first royal couple to sign a pre-nup.

A History

It was the Ferguson family who first brought cutting-edge business to the picturesque Cumbrian village of Warwick Bridge.
Back in 1791 that meant heavy industry, in the guise of a textile mill built to harness the power of fast-flowing Cairn Beck, a tributary of the River Eden.
Revolutionary in its design and innovation, the three-storey mill with its warehouses and dye plants was a world away from the traditional farming industry which had occupied this part of north Cumbria for centuries.
It brought jobs and it brought prosperity. The mill became the focal point of an entire community, with housing, schools and even a church for its employees. It drew in workers from across the Carlisle area.
And, over the next 200 years, successive owners ensured that progress would not pass it by.
As the industrial revolution swept through the 19th century, Warwick Mill developed and expanded. Steam engines replaced the old system of banks and weirs to power the looms day and night. A vast complex of dyeing and bleaching houses were built to handle the thousands of tonnes of textiles which passed through it every day. In 1832, the grand sum of £72 was invested in the 'Danforth Throstle', the most modern spinning machine of the day!
In 1890 the mill was acquired by William Waddell, who manufactured woollen goods from wool spun at the mill under the famous 'Otterburn' label. In 1963, William's great-great-grandson Vincent was chairman of the company when it won the prestigious Gold Award for 'anticipating texture, colour and design trends in tweeds of distinctive character and constant excellence.'
One thing Warwick Mill was not immune to, however, was global recession - and in 1977 dwindling export markets and a slump in the demand for high-quality tweed at home meant that the Waddell family had little option but to close down the textile operation which had run virtually without interruption on the site for nearly two centuries.
But if this was the end of an era, it was not the end of Warwick Mill.

Severe weather warnings are in place for Cumbria today with persistent and widespread heavy rainfall expected.

People are being urged to take extra care on the roads as rainfall totals could top 75mm over high ground.

And Met Office forecasters are already warning of more heavy rain to come tomorrow.

Environment Agency flood warnings are currently in force for the River Eden in Carlisle and at Keswick camp site.

It says that low-lying roads, car parks and property in these areas are at immediate risk.

It has also issued less-serious flood alerts for much of the River Eden, the Greta, Derwent and St John’s Beck near Keswick, the Eamont and Lowther near Langwathby, the Esk and Irthing near Longtown, the Caldew and Petteril near Carlisle, and the Wampool, Ellen, Ehen, Calder, Esk and Irt in west Cumbria.

In January 2010 we invested in a 10 Mps (un-contended) broadband line coming directly into Warwick Mill Business Village which was significantly faster than our aged 2Mps line.
As part of our on- going service development we’re delighted to announce that we now have access to 1000 Mps fibre optic broadband, which to use a simple analogy is like a Bugatti Veyron driven by the Stig, in comparison to the 2Mps service which was like a push bike.

Remember It can take 10x times longer to stop in icy conditions than on a
dry road.

Drive slowly, allowing extra room to slow down and stop.

Use the highest gear possible to avoid wheel spin.

Maneuver gently, avoiding harsh braking and acceleration.

To brake on ice or snow without locking your wheels, get into a low gear
earlier than normal, allow your speed to fall and use the brake pedal
gently.

If you start to skid, ease off the accelerator but do not brake suddenly.
