Today:Starting with patchy fog, especially across the south and Cheshire and Merseyside in particular. The fog will slowly clear leaving many places dry and bright. However areas of low cloud are likely to replace the fog across the south.

Tonight:Much of Cumbria will remain clear with a slight frost occurring. Remaining areas will be slightly milder, due to a mix of low cloud and fog forming overnight.

Saturday:Patchy fog will mostly clear, although slowly, through the day. However areas of low cloud will persist, particularly across the south. The best sunshine will be across Lancashire and Cumbria.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:Sunday and Monday large amounts of low cloud will persist, with the best sunshine for Cumbria. Tuesday will also be generally cloudy, but also with a chance of light rain.
